Two worlds, one toolbox.

In application development since 2012. Today Head of Development — and one of the few people who still genuinely read VFP code.

My day job is modern software: low-code platforms, web frontends, databases, deployments. What sets me apart is the second toolbox — systems from the 90s and 2000s that must keep running because a business depends on them.

I rescue, maintain and modernise them. Step by step, no big-bang migration, no downtime.

AI-assisted development is by now as much a part of the daily routine as the legacy systems are: prompt engineering, agentic workflows, multi-step loop architectures — mostly with Claude Code, alongside some Copilot and smaller models.

05Fossil Rescue

Not a fossil. Just encased.

Visual FoxPro was discontinued in 2015. Some of the applications I've maintained since 2012 are still running regardless.

Rescue audit

Going through code, data and interfaces — what's actually in there usually only shows up once you look closely.

Maintenance & fixes

Fix defects, adapt reports, survive Windows updates — the ordinary upkeep of a system that officially shouldn't exist anymore.

Modernisation

Gradual replacement: new interfaces, existing data — no big bang, including migration paths to Servoy.
